My current research activities are mostly focused on friction and adhesion of gel and rubber systems. Based on the development of time and space resolved contact imaging methods, we investigate the frictional behaviour of sliding interfaces at the mesoscale (i.e. at length scales ranging from the contact size down to the micrometer scale).
News
- In a recent paper published in Proceedings of the Royal Society A, we bring new physical insights in memory effects in friction.
- In a Soft Matter paper, we report on the contribution of poroelastic flow to the onset of frictional sliding of thin hydrogel films grafted onto glass substrates.
